Repozitár Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici

  • iné dokumenty súvisiace s činnosťou univerzity a jej prezentáciou verejnosti.

Dependent self-employment in Slovakia - opportunity or necessity?
(Český statistický úřad : Praha, 2024) Kaščáková, Alena; Knapková, Miroslava; Martinkovičová, Miriam
Recently, the European labour market has witnessed a shift in work structures, notably with self-employed individuals without employees. Many of these individuals are performing self-employment involuntarily, aiming for stable full-time employment. Due to insufficient income, instability, limited career prospects, and inadequate access to social protection, they are dissatisfied with their self-employed status. This dissatisfaction could potentially affect their overall job satisfaction and performance. The goal of this study, conducted on the basis of original primary survey among self-employed persons in Slovakia in 2022, is to explore the motivations influencing self-employment. Specifically, the research aims to examine the initial driving factors behind self-employment among 306 individuals, categorized into 194 traditional independent selfemployed and 112 economically dependent self-employed persons. Results indicate that among economically dependent self-employed persons, necessity-driven motives prevail, particularly necessity to enter family business, job loss, and employer-induced self-employment. For traditional independent self-employed persons, opportunity-driven motives predominate, notably pursuit of better working conditions, desire for independence, and efforts to earn more.

Ru-catalyzed activation of free phenols in a one-step Suzuki Miyaura cross-coupling under mechanochemical conditions
(Royal Society of Chemistry : Cambridge, 2024) Mkrtchyan, Satenik; Jakubczyk, Michał; Sarfaraz, Sehrish; Ayub, Khurshid; Iaroshenko, Viktor O.
Activation of phenols by a Ru-catalyst allows for the resulting η5-phenoxo complex to selectively react with a variety of nucleophiles under mechanochemical conditions. Conversion of phenolic hydroxy groups without derivatization is important for late-stage modifications of pharmaceuticals and in the context of lignin-material processing. We present a one-step, Ru-catalyzed cross-coupling of phenols with boronic acids, aryl trialkoxysilanes and potassium benzoyltrifluoroborates under mechano-chemical conditions. The protocol accepts a wide scope of starting materials and allows for gram-scale synthesis in excellent yields. The developed approach constitutes a very interesting and waste-limiting alternative to the known methods.

Mechanochemical trifluoromethoxylation of aryltrimethylammonium triflates, aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates, and aryl pinacolboranes
(Cell Press : Cambridge, 2024) Mkrtchyan, Satenik; Purohit, Vishal; Zapletal, Jiří; Shalimov, Oleksandr O.; Nociarová, Jela; Addová, Gabriela; Filo, Juraj; Garcia, Michael G.; Kupcová, Elena; Benická, Barbora; Iaroshenko, Viktor O.
Aryl trifluoromethyl ethers (ArOCF3) are important structural motifs in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and functional materials. However, the methods reported for the efficient synthesis of these scaffolds are extremely underdeveloped and limited. Here, we report a highly efficient mechanochemical approach for the selective transformation of aryltrimethylammonium triflates, aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates, and aryl pinacolboranes to aryl trifluoromethyl ethers via in situ-generated OCF3 source using triphosgene and Co(II) fluoride (CoF2). The proposed synthetic protocol also shows potential for the selective transformation of other groups such as arylsulfonium and diaryliodonium functionalities. The present trifluoromethoxylation strategy exhibited a broad functional group tolerance and found to be superior over other existing protocols in terms of substrate scope, yields, operational simplicity, and reaction times.

Principles of smart governance in cities
(Bucharest University of Economic Studies Publishing : Bucharest, 2024) Vitálišová, Katarína; Vaňová, Anna; Vavrúšová, Mária; Turečková, Kamila; Nevima, Jan
Smart governance as a new stage in the development of public sector management brings many challenges to the cities of the 21st century. It opens new possibilities for how to maximize the socio-economic and ecological performance of cities and cope with negative externalities. But to achieve these benefits, it is necessary to create conditions for smart governance implementation. The paper aims to define the principles and prerequisites of smart governance development in cities theoretically and verify them in the real conditions of cities. Based on the theoretical review on smart governance paper identifies principles and prerequisites of smart governance development in cities. They are verified by research results of two sub-researches – one among the experts from academia and practices and one among the representatives of the cities in the Slovak Republic. The paper identifies also the challenges in the implementation of smart governance and the potential future research in the international context.

Online rizikové správanie žiakov - aktuálne trendy a možnosti prevencie a riešenia v školách
(Verbum vydavateľstvo KU : Ružomberok, 2024) Niklová, Miriam
On the one hand, children and youth are among the most numerous and active users of social media, on the other hand, they are also the most risky group due to the fact that they cannot always critically select the information that the media offers them. The Internet environment creates opportunities for the emergence of risky behavior such as cyberbullying, sexting, addictive behavior in relation to the Internet, compulsive playing of online games, intolerant and racist expressions in the Internet environment, cybersex and other forms of inappropriate behavior that can determine the insufficient development of a child. In Slovakia, as well as abroad, there is a trend of an increase in the risky behavior of pupils, which the authors of the study will point out in its introduction in the theoretical-empirical reflection. More and more experts point to the need to pay more attention to the prevention and solution of risky online behavior. In the article, we will present a model of prevention and solutions in the school environment with regard to cyberbullying of students.
