Abstrakt

The present paper deals with the legal aspects of paid work performed by an employee in his/her home in the Slovak Republic, as a counterpart to unpaid domestic work. The aim of the present paper is not only the theoretical definition of the conceptual apparatus of the possibilities of performing paid work by an employee in the household but also the analysis of the institutes mentioned above and the changes in the legislation influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, the present paper discusses the use of paid work in the above forms in the home in the post-Covid period. The results of the analysis demonstrate that there are several contingencies within the legal regulation of paid work performed in the employee's household, which have their specificities envisaged by the legislation and for which the legal regulation presupposes the fulfillment of different requisites and various scopes of rights and obligations of the parties to the employment relationship. However, it is necessary to note that, in practical terms, the boundaries between the institutes in question are 'blurring'.
