Položka Ambivalent elements of social communication in social worker-client interactions(Asociace vzdělavatelů v sociální práci : Brno, 2025) Bambúch, FilipOBJECTIVES: This paper aims to advance the understanding of the ambivalent elements of social communication used by social workers in client interactions. THEORETICAL BASE: The theoretical framework of ambivalent elements of social communication is grounded in the scholarly knowledge of social communication, with the transactional model serving as its foundational principle. METHODS: The research was conducted using a qualitative study design, incorporating various data collection methods such as recording social worker-client interactions, making observations, and interviewing social workers. OUTCOMES: The research findings indicate that ambivalent elements of social communication are present in every interaction between social workers and clients, constituting an integral component of the communication process. These elements operate on both conscious and subconscious levels. SOCIAL WORK IMPLICATIONS: Incorporating supporting elements into communication does not inherently ensure a positive communication outcome, nor is it directly proportional to communication effectiveness. Some supporting elements of communication exhibit ambivalence. These findings carry significant implications for social work practitioners, particularly in enhancing the effectiveness of social communication, in which integration of client feedback and continuous development of communication skills serve as guiding principles. Concurrently, there is an effort to raise awareness of the ambivalent elements inherent in social communication.Položka Limits of online supervision in social work(Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft : Baden-Baden, 2026) Bambúch, FilipIn today's digitized society, online supervision has become an integral part of professional support in social work, offering flexibility and accessibility. However, as noted by Vrťová, Vaska (2022) and Lowe, Speer (2019), it also presents complex challenges affecting its quality and ethics. Key limitations include technical issues like unstable connections (Coker et al., 2002; Gainor, Constantine, 2002) and the loss of personal contact, which impacts non-verbal communication and deeper emotional engagement. Security concerns regarding privacy and data are also significant. Venglářová (2013) highlights that supervision, online or in-person, is a systematic process for professional development, requiring a safe, confidential space for self-reflection. Despite digital challenges, the core principles – promoting growth, enhancing competencies, and ensuring quality feedback – remain essential. This chapter aims to identify and analyze these limitations, proposing strategies to mitigate them and enhance the effectiveness of online supervision in social work. It will cover technological, interpersonal, and ethical dimensions, offering a comprehensive overview of obstacles and solutions. Melanie Klein (1882 – 1960), a pioneering figure in child psychoanalysis and a key representative of object relations theory, significantly influenced the understanding of early childhood and its impact on personality development. This article provides a brief overview of her life and explains her fundamental theoretical concepts, such as early object relations, the mechanism of splitting, and projective identification. Although her work was not originally aimed at social work, it offers a valuable theoretical framework for this field. In social work, these concepts are particularly applied in practice with children and families, facilitating the understanding of relational dynamics, empathy, and clients’ unconscious processes. The paper highlights the relevance of Klein’s contributions for fostering effective and sensitive support to people in diverse life situations.Položka Organising support for refugees from Ukraine : the role of the state, local governments, and civil society(Abingdon : Routledge, 2025) Brozmanová Gregorová, Alžbeta; Bambúch, FilipCommencement of the unprovoked Russian aggression against Ukraine triggered a huge wave of refugees. Assisting these people in recovering from the psychological trauma, rebuilding their self-confidence, and integrating into the economic and labour activities of their new host countries poses a significant challenge. V4 countries, as a part of EU member states, are putting forth considerable efforts to support these refugees. They now host around a quarter of all Ukrainians who have fled their country following the Russian invasion. Nevertheless, integrating Ukrainian refugees is intricate and demands substantial resources. Initially, in the early stages of the conflict, V4 countries extended various forms of assistance to Ukrainians, driven by a moral obligation to aid a nation defending shared values and its freedom, without considering economic factors. However, as the number of refugees grew, countries began encountering challenges in accommodating and integrating them and are now seeking a balanced approach. The chapter contains an analysis of the structure of the support system for people coming from Ukraine in V4 countries, including the scope of actions taken by the government administration, involvement of local governments, and civil society in support initiatives.Položka Regionálna analýza o mladých ľuďoch ohrozených situáciou NEET a v situácii NEET na území Banskobystrického samosprávneho kraja(Belianum. Vydavateľstvo Univerzity Mateja Bela v Banskej Bystrici, 2025) Brozmanová Gregorová, Alžbeta; Heinzová, Zuzana; Šolcová, Jana; Androvičová, Jarmila; Bambúch, Filip; Bernátová, Magdaléna; Brunovská, Ema; Červinková, Aneta; Galasová, Miroslava; Galková, Lucia; Hačková, Ivana; Jusko, Peter; Koza Beňová, Kamila; Kaliská, Lada; Kurčíková, Katarína; Murray Svidroňová, Mária; Nemcová, Lívia; Stillerová, Zlatica; Šatara, Erik; Vyvlečková, Lucie; Zólyomiová, PatríciaPoložka Syndróm vyhorenia u pomáhajúcich pracovníkov z perspektívy psychoanalýzy(Verbum - vydavateľstvo KU : Ružomberok, 2026) Bambúch, FilipThis scientific article explores burnout syndrome in helping professionals, offering a profound psychoanalytic perspective on its aetiology, manifestations, and intervention possibilities. It analyzes the key dimensions of burnout – emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment – through the lens of psychoanalytic concepts such as the dynamics of the ego, id, and superego, defence mechanisms, the influence of early experiences and object relations, as well as the phenomena of transference and countertransference. The aim is to move beyond a descriptive understanding of the syndrome and to uncover the unconscious psychological processes that contribute to its onset and persistence in the context of demanding helping professions.Položka Volunteering as a tool for activating young NEETs: from basic habits to employability(Magnanimitas : Hradec Králové, 2025) Bambúch, Filip; Šolcová, JanaThis study examines young people in NEET situations (Not in Employment, Education or Training) in Slovakia, analysing their demographic, socio-economic and psychological challenges, as well as the long-term consequences of NEET status. The research is based on qualitative analysis of focus groups with young people in the Banská Bystrica region and explores volunteering as a tool for their activation and enhancement of employability. The findings demonstrate that volunteering contributes to the development of basic work habits, increases self-confidence, provides practical experience, and improves the professional profiles of young NEETs. Respondents perceive volunteering as a bridge between inactivity and integration into the labour market, appreciating its motivational and social benefits. The study confirms that volunteering is an effective and comprehensive instrument for supporting the employability and social inclusion of young people outside education and the labour market, recommending its systematic integration into policies and programmes targeting this group.
