dc.description.abstractIn the current economic climate marked by monetary depreciation, declining savings, and rising municipal debt, local currencies are emerging as a potential solution. This study identifies and evaluates the economic benefits of local currency implementation through a systematic literature review and an analysis of their impact on territorial development. Employing the Delphi method as the primary research tool, this interdisciplinary analysis explores how local currencies can strengthen local competitiveness. The findings provide a detailed overview of the advantages these currencies offer to municipal governments and communities. This research addresses a significant gap in the literature by delivering a focused examination of local currency systems within the Slovak setting, with particular attention to their economic contributions to territorial development.
